Status: Temporary, Part-Time (0.44 FTE) 34 hours per fortnight.12-month contract with the possibility of extension.

Salary range: A pro rata salary of $65,483.31 to $74,528.19 per annum (dependent on skills, knowledge and experience).

 

Job Description

Opportunity: The City of Albany’s Developed Reserves Team is looking for an experienced and passionate individual to join their Mowing Team. This role is available from level 3 to 6 dependent on your experience and qualifications. As part of this role, you will work a rostered 34-hour fortnight, reporting to the Leading Hand. This position will see you responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Maintaining the turf areas within the City’s open spaces;
  • Operating and basic maintenance of plant and equipment; tractors, mowers, whipper-snippers, brush cutters;
  • Undertaking manual tasks such as garden maintenance, mowing, pruning and weed spraying
  • Working cohesively in a small team environment.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You: Possession of excellent interpersonal skills, basic first aid, and the ability to undertake physically demanding work are essential for this role. Completion of a Certificate III in Horticulture or equivalent is required to be considered for levels 4, 5 and 6. Previous experience as a machine operator is required with additional tickets such as Chemical handling, MR or HR licence and traffic management being highly desirable.
