Status: Temporary, Part Time (0.55 FTE) x 2 positions. 6 months with possibility of extension.
Salary range: $69,662.07 to $ 74,002.53 per annum, pro rata dependent on skills and experience.

Opportunity: The City of Albany’s Reserves team are looking for dedicated, passionate and customer focused individuals to take up the roles of seasonal onsite Caretakers.
There are 2 positions available to assist with managing campgrounds east and west of Albany.
Position 1: Located at Cosy Corner East Campground the caretaker would also be responsible for Torbay Inlet Campground (Floodgates Campground).
Position 2: Located at Bettys Beach Campground the caretaker would also be responsible for Normans Beach Campground and East Bay Campground.
Reporting to the Natural Reserves Supervisor, this role will see you responsible for, but not limited to:
- Greeting visitors to the site and provide information on rules and Emergency Procedures;
- Co-ordinating and controlling the Camping activities at the campground within the rules of the park as set out by the City of Albany;
- Maintaining the natural and built environment within the Campground a clean, tidy and orderly manner;
- Maintaining hygienic toilet facilities;
- Keep a log of overnight visitors and their information as guided by the City; and
- Providing records to the City of Albany of fees collected on a regular basis.
Please note: The Caretaker is required to live onsite and must have their own accommodation/van and are required to be self-sufficient. Own vehicle to be used and minimum requirements apply. Fuel allowance available.
We will also be creating a casual pool from this recruitment to provide cover for the Caretaker’s periods of leave etc. Please indicate on your application if you would like to be considered for this pool.
About You: The successful candidates will possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, along with the ability to plan and organise their own work schedules. The capability to undertake minor maintenance is essential for this role. Please note this role can be job shared and it suitable for couples or groups to apply.
Candidates will also need to have previous experience in a caretaker role and knowledge of general camping regulations/operations, a proven history with working with the general public and handling difficult customers, and an understanding of effective cleaning processes. Knowledge of the applicable area is highly desirable.
