Status: Temporary, 12-month contract (with possibility of extension), 57 hours a fortnight (0.75 FTE).

Salary range: $76,393.14 to $80,290.95 per annum, pro rata and dependent on skills, knowledge and experience.

 

Ordinary Hours: 114 hours per 4 weekly cycle to be worked Tuesday to Friday between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm.

 

Job Description

Opportunity: The City of Albany’s Finance Team is looking for a customer focused individual to take up the role of Rates Officer.

Reporting to the Rates Coordinator, this role will see you responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Managing the collection of rates income with ratepayers, including the processing of payments, refunds, and maintaining accurate records of transactions;
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to property rating;
  • Maintain and record property details;
  • Assist with implementing enforcement measures.

Desired Skills and Experience

The possession of the following is essential for the role:

  • Possession of at least 2 years financial/clerical experience.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills;
  • Computerised systems experience;
  • Sound knowledge of financial principles and practices, and knowledge of work activities performed within a rates team;
  • Strong customer service focus and commitment.
