The City of Albany’s Planning Team is looking for two enthusiastic, motivated and customer focused individuals for the roles of Senior Planning Officer and Planning Officer.
Ranging from level 5 to 8, this recruitment provides the opportunity for progression through levels once skills and experience are obtained. At each level you will require different skills and experience and will have varying responsibilities, please refer to the attached position descriptions for further details.
Reporting to the Coordinator Development Assessment and Customer Relations, this role will see you responsible for overseeing the timely and efficient processing of development and subdivision applications and the delivery of professional advice to the City and community on various planning matters, with a focus on delivering high-quality customer experience and outcomes, that align with the City's strategic objectives and statutory requirements.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You: Candidates must have a tertiary qualification in Town Planning and at a minimum, basic knowledge and understanding of;
The R- Codes and other state and local planning legislation;
Planning for Bushfire regulations and associated planning legislation; and
Legislation, procedures, policies and activities related to local government operations.
Candidates must also have a strong customer service focus and commitment with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong computer, report writing, and negotiation skills are also required for this role.
