Job Description

Opportunity: The City of Albany’s Sustainability Team is looking for an experienced and passionate individual to take up the role of Waste Project Officer.

Reporting to the Coordinator Sustainability and Waste Strategy, this role will see you responsible for supporting, developing and implementing programs and projects related to the closure of the Hanrahan Road landfill and beyond. You will also be responsible for supporting other waste projects in line with Community Strategic Plan objectives for a clean, green and sustainable Albany.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You: To be successful in this position you are required to have experience using project management and procurement software to deliver projects efficiently and within budget. Skilled in financial and budget management, you will be able to track costs and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools is essential for managing reports and communications.

You will need to be an effective communicator, able to engage with stakeholders and foster collaboration. Organised and proactive, with the ability to handle multiple projects while maintaining quality standards.

The successful applicant will hold a degree in Contract or Project Management, or equivalent experience, be a self-starter who works well independently and in teams. A valid 'C' Class Driver’s Licence is required, along with the willingness to represent the City of Albany in forums and public events.
